Balance

Personally, the most difficult task is finding the right balance. I feel like many people, including myself, find it easier to be on the extreme ends: eating greasy, sugary foods to the point you feel sick or starving yourself completely.

It’s completely okay to eat a small portion of dessert or treat yourself to ice cream after school. It’s completely okay to enjoy a satisfying bowl of salad one day and enjoy hamburgers and fries the next day. It’s completely okay to enjoy your food until you’re satisfied.

However, what is not okay is starving yourself. Instead of eating little to nothing on the weekdays and devouring everything you want on the weekends, it is important to find a balance that works for you–a lifestyle you can continue happily.

Balance will look different for everyone. For some people, it may be eating one donut instead of two. For others, it may be to walk 20 minutes everyday instead of extreme workouts once a week. Whatever your balance may look like, staying consistent, happy, and satisfied will allow you to be the best version of yourself, no matter what the scale or mirror says.
